Hey Tidbitters!

Hope you are all doing well!  The Cats send their purrs ... err ... provided you send them treats they just told me.

Looking at today's title.  What the heck does it mean? I experienced a crack in my perception. I'm thirty-eight years old and that one crack caused me to see something I have held in my perception for this lifetime.

I said something to a friend and they seemed to get angry and left.  I was really concerned.  This was an online friend and they went offline.  I was beside myself with worry that I had greatly offended them.  I searched what I had said, and could not find what could have been offensive by it, but still I knew my friend was upset, and I was sick in my thoughts that I had caused it.

I didn't see them online again until the next day.  I had been worried the entire time, and quite stressed.  I approached them, and inquired once more, if I had offended them.  To my utter surprise they were not angry with me, they were angry with themselves.  My words reflected something in their life about them that they didn't like.  All was well between us.

Here was a huge crack in my perception.  I looked at myself and realized even if a person simply withdraws from me, my immediate thought is, what did I do to offend them?  I haven't considered what may be going on in their life.

I found a fear I have.  I have always known all my life I cannot stand to have hurt or offended someone.  What I didn't know is how much this fear surrounds me and remains at the forefront of my thoughts to the degree if anyone merely withdraws even a little, I fear I have hurt them somehow.

We learn ourselves from looking into the mirror of others.  Even when that reflection at times may be painful.  When my friend logged that night, I was in a great deal of pain, but the next day, I found a gem, I would have never discovered had it not been for my friend.

Embrace the people in your life. Look at how you react to them.  Therein lies your reflection.  Tweak that which you do not like.

Hi Tidbitters,

In my last post, (scroll down), I talked about how life is a game.  A friend of mine landed on the last place  on the game board. He has won his game, and has gone home.  He was slowly dying of cancer, and having ups and downs, and was recovering from a down period, to have a blood clot suddenly claim him. 

In retrospect, I've seen my step-father really suffer with pain at the end of the road of cancer, my friend Bob did not have to endure that.  He rolled the dice and was given a large number and was propelled forward more quickly, able to skip a lot of painful spaces. 

It's sad for those of us still playing the game.  My pain is for Bob's wife and daughter.  I know Bob is in a wonderful place now.  His wife and daughter are going through a growth period that is not easy.

In all honesty if I didn't know life was a game, I know where I'd be right now in a miry pit of sorrow.  Instead there is a touch of sadness, the part in me that will miss him, and even more the part of me that knows the impact his absence will have on his wife and daughter.

This shows me the next play of my game, and I already am in action of loving them with contact and prayers.

It's easy to get focused, during times like this on those of us still playing the game.  Let us not forget to look at the player, who has won!  Bob has gone home, and no longer endures the trials and tribulations the game had in store for him.  High-five, Bob!  You played a great game!

Hey Tidbitters!

Hope you all are enjoying a joy-filled prosperous New Year!   I can remember back years ago, the turning of the New Year scared me.  I wouldn't stay up to midnight, I'd often get sick on the 31st of December, and would go to bed.

I would be thinking in the back of my mind, I survived this year, what on earth will the new year bring me?

That was back in the days, when I didn't know I could control my own life.  I had some say in it, I had some input.  I was creating my life, as I was going all the while, but just didn't know it. To learn you can create your life is empowering! 

This too was before I learned the purpose of being here.  It's a game.  We came here to experience and to grow and find those opportunities to share love, when we least likely wanted to do so.  That's when we grow ... right there. 

Also, to share love and help to those even when we want to is a beautiful experience to our heart that adds to our growth as well.

The hard part is, when we get mired down into the muck of life and forget to step back and look at it, and see it for what it really is.  It's all a game. 

To win in this game you simply survive it.  It's not about what place you come in. Some complete the course long before you, but they played their entire game.  They may have began playing before you, or the roll of their dice propelled them forward more quickly.

The game is fun to play, when you help others along their journey in the game. That's when you feel like you win, and to a degree, you are winning.  Because that's when you make the game beautiful and fun, and not a drudgery to live day by day until you finally reach the last space on the board and have finished the game.

So, it never is about winning - we all win in the end.  It really is about HOW we play the game.

Hope everyone is doing wonderfully well!

Have you ever had those moments that just come to you, where you feel completely at joy, completely in bliss, and everything just feels perfect?  Usually these moments are fleeting and don't last very long but when they come all burdens seem to just melt away, and there is a deep knowing within you that everything is alright.

I believe these moments are when you are in sync with your heart. Your mind has shut up for just a moment with all of its doubts, worries and fears, and you can finally hear your heart that knows all truths.

You can experience these heartfelt moments more often and for greater lengths of time, if you pause and concentrate on what is making you feel this blissful moment, when it does arrive.  Concentrate on that bliss, and you will automatically tune out the clatter that usually fills your mind.

This time of year is beautiful for many souls, as it is a celebration of being with and/or gifting loved ones.  But it can also be painful for those who have lost loved ones, and miss sharing time with them.  It can be a reminder of that time with them that is no longer there. 

I do believe your loved ones can and do visit you in spirit, but I do know that ache for their physical being. I truly empathize with you.

I invite you to find in your mind a time when you had a blissful moment, and recapture that moment and listen to your heart ... hear your heart, and focus on its truths.

It's an opening of your heart, and it is a beautiful experience all in itself.

Addressing today's title ... I believe we are here to experience.  We obviously experience a great deal through our own lives.  But we can and do expand our experiences. 

We expand our experiences with other people and getting involved with their lives.  We put ourselves in a position of experiencing different things from seeing life from their point of view.

We expand our experiences through movies and television.  The characters experience either things we have or have not experienced, and even if we have experienced something the character has, they react differently so, we experience it from their point of view.

We also naturally expand our experiences much the same way with reading books, if not more profoundly than with the movies and television.

Actors expand their experiences by stepping into a character and literally walking the path of their characters.

I play World of Warcraft and I play on the role playing realms, and I step into my characters as well.  It's profound what my characters experience, and it's amazing as each character is different what they attract in their *life experiences*.  Each character attracts different things.

I have one character I play as my ownself.  She has my beliefs, thoughts and reactions, and the people around this character are pretty much what I would expect from real life.  Then I have one character who is scared with paranoia, and angry.  It's amazing to see the two types of people she attracts.  Either they want to save her, but they can't, or they are the very people who scare or anger her.  Even if she goes somewhere and doesn't know them, she'll attract one of the two, even if she doesn't speak.  That astounds me.

To sum it all up, I do believe the world of fiction whether it be books, shows, or acting expands our experiences, and I think we can grow from those bonus experiences.  And then the non-fiction experiences of learning the stories of your loved ones and walking a bit on their path with them, expands our experiences as well.

Hope this finds you all doing well and progressing towards all hearts' goals and dreams.

Have you ever told Loved One A how much you loved Loved One B and so appreciate them?

The question is did you tell Loved One B?

A friend amongst a group of my friends was doubting his place among us.  I kept reassuring him that his company was loved and appreciated, as the friends would tell me, but they didn't tell him until ... he left.  Then they sent him letters and he came back to me and told me I was right, they did love and appreciate him.

My voice was not enough to assure him of what the others were thinking.  He needed to hear it from them.

I think deep down inside we all long to feel loved and appreciated.  I think the most joyful people are the ones that spread love and it bounces back to them easily because others feel safe to open up with them because that individual opened the door first.  But even those that are a bit closed with their emotions still have that need, and that need may be even stronger because they don't spread it as easily and others may feel a bit trepid of sharing their feelings with them.

Your loved ones whether they be family or friends ... tell them how much you love and appreciate them.  It may be very vital to them, and you just may not know it.  It can be scary ... but I can tell you from my experience.  I've yet to be bitten by anyone I appreciated.   I really don't think we have to fear that they will bite.
