Hey Tidbitters!
I hope this finds you all doing well in all areas of your lives! ![]()
Okay, the title of today's issue should really be: "An Overlooked Key to Your Happiness". I just liked the sound of the hidden one better. Hehe.
But this is a vital one, so do please continue with me here.
It is easy for us to want to try to please loved ones, whether they are family or friends. It gives us joy to see our loved ones happy. You just have to be careful to not caught in a web here.
A web? Yes, just like a big, thick, sticky spider web. In my perspective it is a gift to do things for others to gift them with joy. But sometimes it may seem no matter what we do or try to do, they do not lift out of a place of funk and into the realm of joy.
This is where that web catches us. So, we keep trying and trying. And still no results. This is when we have to be reminded that no reality exists except for the perceived one, and thus reality for each of us is as different as our perceptions.
Want to test me on that one? Step into a child's wading pool. No water is in it. Look around. A bit small, isn't it? Couldn't even swim in it. Now, picture yourself as a tiny ant in that pool. Hmm ... still small? If that thing was filled with water, it would probably seem like a gigantic lake to you.
Wading pool was the same environment to you as you and to you as an ant. But my how your perceptions changed, and thus your reality.
If your loved one is down, or going through a hard time, and you can't seem to bring them joy - you must not take this personally. You must not run yourself down trying to think of anything and everything that could lift your loved one to a better frame of mind. You must come to accept, they are having their perceptions.
You can try talking to them, you can love them, you can support them, and you can pray for them. Just remember ultimately, it is up to them. And if they are battling with an illness, pray, pray, pray. It is the best way to help them. Don't tear yourself down, if you lost the battle in raising their spirits. Do what you can do, but remember to take care of you, too.
Love your loved ones. And to do that, you have to love yourself, so you can be your best self to even begin to lend them a comforting, helping, hand.
To you and your loved ones! My love to you all, God bless!
In His Joy,
